We are wrapping up the release of Sam Reports. I’ve been dealing mostly with the sales related tasks (setting up a shop, integrating the registration process into application). Answering numerous emails as well. More to come…

    Hi,

i have a client requesting me to create a custom report for his asterisk aside from the CDR that it has by default. I would really like to see how your software works and if would solve what they need. If ever, i will be recommending this to them instead of making the report myself.

Please send me a demo copy and a pricing guide for me to evaluate.

    Thanks.

Am very close to buying this product for my customer, however a couple of things are needed. Firstly, it needs to be able to work with cdr_mysql, since the data processing is very slow even in our fairly small outbound sales call centre. (50mb CDR processing takes a while).

Also, needs to be able to save report settings. E.g. I go into Channels Summary, and I set things up the way the manager wants, e.g. simple view of single day listing Duration Summary, Duration Average, and Count. So we can see who’s been on the phone the most and who hasn’t. Well it should be possible to save this as a preset.

And lastly, with the above in place, how about the ability to run from a scheduled task to generate PDF output?

Looking good so far though. Any feedback on the above? Timescales? What’s the upgrade policy for purchasers?

I think the MySQL thing is the most important to be honest.

    cheers,
    Carl

Thanks for your very comprehensive comment. Let me answer your questions.
    1. cdr_mysql might me coming in the future, when we get more customer requests for it.
    2. 50 MB cdr file needs to be processed form the beginning just once. Later, when new data arrives, just the difference is being processed.
    3. Saving report settings (presets) is a very good idea, and we will try to implement it in the fall release.
    4. Scheduling tasks is a good idea, but this is a first such request, so I will keep it in the “maybe” section
    5. Upgrades are free for all registered user for a full version cycle (from X.y to X +1 .y)

    Cheers

I would like to see this completely web based and using mysql_cdr. The design looks great, just horrible it needs a PC front end to run. Won’t be buying it.. sorry

Of course that web based applications have their advantages, but computational power, usability and responsiveness are not among them. Glad you like the interface though. Cheers.
