- display area
Project Settings
There are five main areas of project settings:
On the image above you see the five main parts tabs that appear on the bottom of each project window. Below I will describe each one.
But first, let’s take a look at a video describing adding a new project and processing data:
Asterisk Project Settings
On this page you enter the information related to connecting to your Asterisk server.
Single Log Files Settings
If you use single log files, that are placed in default location, then you don’t need to edit anything on this page. Same goes if your Asterisk installation rotates log files. Then you would go to the “Multiple Log Files” page.
Multiple Log Files Settings
Multiple Log Files let you define the rules that explain to SAM Reports 2 how your sliced Asterisk log files get rotated. That is necessary for the Transfer or Import to work properly. This is only needed if you don’t have a single log files configuration on your Asterisk PBX.
Transfer Settings
Here you can define the SFTP connection settings for your project’s Asterisk machine.
Manager Settings
Those settings let you define local codes and prefixes. PBX prefix is important so that phone numbers may be identified correctly.
Project Rules
Project rules commands let you see the raw log files of the current project (only in Enterprise Edition), also set the rules for processing log files, and view last parsed results.
Log Files Viewer
Log Files Viewer is an application that comes only in the Enterprise Edition of SAM Reports 2. It let’s you view and inspect your project’s raw log files, as created by the Asterisk PBX.
The purpose of Log Files Viewer is to construct ignore rules and agent rules for your project, which is only possible if you can examine the raw log files.
Agent Rules
If an agent’s extension is contained within it’s name, than you can define the rules explaining how that extension can be recognized and extracted.
Ignore Rules
Ignore rules let you ignore some lines from CDR and queue log files. You may have such needs if your CDR log file has many unnecessary log lines, not to crowd your report with redundant data. Or maybe there are some privacy issues involved.
Last Parse Results
This command shows you a window with animated report displaying the project’s last parsing flow. You can see more information here.
Common Settings
Common settings inform you about SAM Reports2 application installation directory and the data directory.
You can also change the skin with common settings
